220mph M5 - thoughts?

Evening all.

Currently discussing this car with a friend, we are struggling to believe his 220mph top speed claims. The seller is very confident about this and invites anyone to test it for £10k deposit....which he says he is going to keep if the car does make 220mph.

Anyway, see what you think, sorry if it's a repost as the car has been for sale for at least 6 months.

Also, if anyone fancies having a crack at explaining the physics as to why the car wouldn't do 220mph, I would be interested.

And my understanding of RAM-Air was that the air filter would be completely enclosed, there are clearly gaps around those air filters, in what looks like nothing more than basic heat shields.

So just to clarify it's a 600bhp with a expensive but gash bodykit and the seller says it will do 220mph

Are they even geared for that?

Put it in perspective - a Ferrari 599 has 611bhp and does around 205mph. Reads like something from Max Power.

AC Schnitzer kit on that M5 looks crap. So this guy has found close to 100bhp with a couple of fancy air filters and a remap? Impressive!

You can tell it's complete arse as his list of £150k "modifications" starts with Playstation DVD crap, in "TUV approved wide headrests" before moving on to the God awful wheels.

He seems to have forgotten to list the "in car temple" / CD hanging from the rear view mirror?

i sure i of an read a standard M5 with the limiter taken off could crack 200mph? so not much improvement for £150k

I call shenanigans. It's not enough of a jump from the stock power figure, there are 220mph M5s around and they are using forced induction and much more power to make it up there.
