Grinding noise??

Hi all, Just started getting a loud grinding noise when I turn hard left, seems only to occur second gear?? Is second gear physically the highest in the gear box? Maybe running dry??
Any help much appreciated!

Check your power steering fluid.

Hi, thanks for the replys. Just checked the fluid and its spot on, It only happens when i'm in second and going round quite a sharp corner quickish.. Any other Ideas??

Now check your fluid again whilst the engine is running and someone is turning the wheel lock to lock.

I still don't think it's your gearbox.

Is it a brief or prolonged noise?

Could be exhaust hitting the chassis, or diff output flange on the chassis also.

I had a similar problem at low speeds, sent it to bespoke performance and they changed the diff oil and bobs your uncle

Power steerings fine, had a look underneath and the drivers side exhaust manifold is about 1/4 of an inch away from the body and the pass side is about 2 inchs away, which makes sense why its bad around a left hander. I can make it rattle when I come down the gears at around 2600rpm in a straight line now so it seems to be getting closer to the chassis.
How easy is it to change the engine mounts, anyone changed them before?

I take it you mean the manifolds are close to the chassis rails? The lower part of the manifolds in front of the gear box/cats does have some scope for adjustment. The engine mount brackets also have some scope for adjustment. The brackets themselves. They are bolted to the chassis rails, amd have slotted holes so they can be moved fore and aft Also the big single bolt with the rubber bush on it can also be adjusted - I think, I could be wrong. You'll need to support the engine with a jack, loosen of the bolts and see if you can move the engine over, before re-tightening everything.

Check youe engine oil, it sounds mad but whe I had mine if it was off max it would make a noise like this. I thought it was a common problem with Cerbs
