How fussy are you with tyres?

After many years, I've sadly hit a kerb. While parking, at less than 3mph. The tyre has the tiniest bit of damage on the sidewall. The "cut" is probably less than 0.5mm deep at 4mm long. It's tiny, no one would notice but I just do...
I have the feeling it's perfectly safe but that nagging doubt that the internet folk plants in your head makes you worry. Surely we can't replace a tyre for the tiniest bit of damage?
A chunk yes, ply exposed yes, nail in tread yes. Common sense type of thing.

I'd say it would be a personal opinion for what you feal happy with or whether you think it may be a problem.

Me personally I wouldnt replace a cut in the side wall unless there could be cord visable. But it would annoy me as I know its there

So barely a scratch, then. I wouldn't give that a second thought.

If you're looking for something to worry about, how old is your brake fluid?

Its bothered you enought o ask about it. Would i? yes on the TVR because of what it is, a very fast car. On the family wagon? yes, because the wife transports our children around. If its in the back of your mind it will be right at the front when you have a blow out, of course it could last the normal length of the tyre.....

If it's so small you can hardly get a picture of it and it's .5mm deep I wouldn't worry about it at all.

I'm surprised it didn't need all 4 tyres, 4 wheel alignment and new exhaust, you know, just to be safe.

It is actually because Kwik fit said all is ok that I do feel better. If they say ok, without trying to sell you another tyre, it must be ok!

I am genuinely amazed that Kwik Fit didn't advise to change the tyre, or more likely both tyres on that axle. Most tyre places would have if you go in even with a slight concern about a tyre.

Tiny bit of dust in the way of a bolt meaning a special tool required to be orderd in delaying by 4 days. Back order of parts for 3 weeks. Then the senior manager of about 300 stores has to come and inspect and sign the car off before its allowed of site. you know, just to be safe.
