Sky HD multi room help...
Discussion
I understand it is possible to use one sky box and feed other room. I am looking for someone to point me in the direction of what I need. I want to be able to view and control the sky. I know that I will only be able to view one channel on all TV's, but this is ok. I'm looking to feed at least 4 separate rooms.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
If it's just one box & one other TV, use the Magic Eye.
It's it's more than one box or TV, I use the Labgear set up from these chaps:

They have pdf schematics explaining how it goes together.
The technical guy there is very helpful (I can't recall his name at the moment though).
Good luck.

That is not multiroom. That is using a 'magic eye' and you will not be able to view in HD in the 'other rooms'. I also think, not 100% that you can only have 1 extra tv with a signal and in analogue (i could be wrong but think i'm right)
Sky multi room is £10 per room extra each month.
Sky multi room is £10 per room extra each month.
A friend who was a SKY fitter installed our HD, I asked him if we could have more than just the SKY HD and the extra box which we pay for.... he went back to his van and fetched an "Octi LNB" it has 8 outlets. HD uses two of them, the rest feed our daughters rooms (2) our room (1) and the spare guest room (1) 5 in total. We got some boxes off ebay and job done.... As for running off the back of the HD box direct, I'm not to sure but someone will be along to explane....

But if you have extra boxes you will have extra cards to activate them thus meaning you pay an extra £10 per box per month?regards

What you're after is indeed possible and the gist of it is that you need to run a pair of CAT5e or 6 cable for each room all terminating at a single point where a splitter is fed from the HD box. Thanks in advance.
The devices are commonly known as baluns and are all over eBay and av forums. You'll find quite a few opposing views and preferences on manufacturers, but be prepared to spend a couple of grand for a simple 4 room setup. When I last looked into this, I spec'd a similar set up at circa 3k.
