I think I have a trapped nerve in my shoulder. It really hurts if I try and reach for something. Even worse if I throw something. I can barely scratch my back with this arm as the pain is excruciating if I try to raise my hand higher than the base of my spine. The pain shoots from my shoulder down the inside of my bicep.

So, is this likely to clear up or should I see the quack? I've had it about 6 or 7 weeks so far so not looking good for self healing. Not sure what a doctor could do though. I realise this isn't a doctor's surgery; just wondered if anyone else has had similar.

Well, I've never heard of the rotator cuff!! However, Googling it the symptoms do seem to fit. So, looks like a trip to the doctor. Thanks for the info.

Quick update. Went to the doctor this morning who confirmed your 'diagnosis'. I have a cortisone injection to look forward to next week.
