My water meter stopcock has a small plastic collar which acts as an adaptor between a socket drive and the meter stop valve itself.

Any idea where I can get one of these from? Tried the usual suspects, it being the bank holiday, the water board aren't answering the phone!

Only the water board. But you can turn the stopcock itself with a small adjustable spanner.

Perhaps that's because water boards dissappeared in 1974

British Rail don't answer either.

Funny how everything was cheaper and seemed to work better in those days.
