Assuming that you entered the US using VWP, rather than a visa, they know what you declared on the ESTA form. If they are suspicious about you or your intentions, they have means to access shared information/biometrics/data, but it's not immediately accessible to CBP officers.
Resonable to ask what you do for employment, I'd have invited him to mind his own business, regarding earnings.

TBH Americans are very materialistic. I expect he wanted to fk you and was seeing if you were worth asking out?

They ask a lot of questions to see your reaction. They may not know the answer but have been trained to know when you are lieing. The first couple of questions are to get a base line then they ask ones that require more detailed answers. It's all based on some basic principals such as answering too quickly and looking in a certain direction.

The actual info they have on you is next to nothing. Although, thanks to Labor, they do have access to your criminal records and even credit history. Labor got nothing back in the deal.

Is this really true?

I know of two individuals, nice blokes but who have made mistakes in the past, and they lie on the 'have you been arrested/have any criminal convictions' question and they get away with it. They've entered the US multiple times over the past 3 years.

NAFAIK

They don't have access to the PNC and only know what you or Interpol tell them

Unless it's changed in the last couple of years

Personal information is available to USCIS and ICE if you give them cause to look for it. Same applies to UK Immigration, in the case of visiting Americans and has been the case since 2008.
