TVR habits when you get into your daily driver?

Every cars feels different to drive and for me, my TVR has been one of the most different because of it’s firm controls, low driving position and strange switch layouts.

I haven’t driven all that many miles in my Chim and I am still getting used to it. I find that if I drive my X-Type straight after a TVR hoon, it takes a few moments re-adjust.

For example, I have done each of the following at some point:
-Mashing the clutch into the carpet expecting more resistance
-Going hard on gas/brakes forgetting how light they are
-Yanking the handbrake up hard when parking
-And today, scrabbling around under the wing mirror to open the door!

For all those TVR drivers with a 2nd non-TVR car - Do you find that you ever do the odd TVR thing when you first jump in to your other car?

Try to find 6th gear in my S3. Never works! Just glad reverse is not there, but then get back in BMW and drive up motorway in 5th.

I find that when I go from my daily car to the TVR I am pulling the back of the steering wheel to change gear with the paddles, I soon get used to a gear stick and clutch though and a little more power.

I forgot to add - I have started to put the X-Type into 5th before reverse gear.

Love driving my Chim, but cant get used to driving my 73bhp chitroen C3 after. Sat so high and no power, before I got the Chim I used to think the 1.1 C3 was nippy, not now.

Mine are too different for it to be an issue. A6 is an auto elephant that sound like a bag of spanners when cold, the Tuscan is a manual greyhound that sounds like a bag of spanners when cold.

The layouts of the cars are so different

I struggle to get out of either of the non-TVRs that I drive regularly. I spend anything between 2 and 5 seconds looking around the stereo for the door-release button!

Similar to the wing mirror one but pressing a random button on the centre console waiting for the door to spring open.

As already mentioned the door opening thing, I always automatically scramble around the centre console with my left hand for a split second before my brain cell kicks in and reminds me that I'm not in the Chimaera.

Here also. Always go for the stereo to get out when there's a big door handle on the door.

I always try to lower the seat on the 3-series, only to find that it's at the lowest setting already.

Changing between the Chim and the Smart the main things I have to really think about are:
Door release
Ignition key position on the smart it’s in the middle
Gear change the smart is sequential
Most of all overtaking I have pulled out a couple of times and thought I'm not going to make that and then pull back in.

Both cars are so much fun but in such a different way.

Overtaking - I sometimes forget I need more space to overtake in the luxo barge on roads that I drive frequently in the Tuscan

Don't have a 2nd car but drove my mums civic the other day. Needed to reverse off the drive, tried slamming the gear lever into 5th before reverse. Took a couple of seconds to realise what i was doing wrong.

Then when i reached my destination i was looking for a button to open the door! DOH

Cue much laughter from my mum once i told her.
