as a new ph member and griff owner i just wanted some input on how much difference decatting my 93' 4.3 woulld make as tvr david hendry said not to bother. Any implications?

I will be surprised if it makes any difference, no 430's had cats.

cheers for the reply ant, but has cats as 93 was the change over year for cats,but everywhere said they stopped making the griff 4.3 in 92, strange as i have 93'

Look at the ECU (or likely the chip) to see if it says cat...

Manifolds may have been replaced at some time. Check the chassis number to see when it was made, which is different from first registered...

Just checked ecu land rover 14 cux date code0794 ?? Is vin no same as chassis if so doesnt seem to tell me any more ?? sorry not too clever when it comes to cars

thanks dave for the info still none of the wiser,took a hoon out to neils today just to have a gander ! But to be fair doesnt take much of an excuse to drive the griff anywhere.what a joy these days are.

A car only had to be built before 1/1/93 to have no cats, plenty were registered after this date with no cats, as was perfectly legal if the build requirements were met.

thanks for that insight, how would i find out when the car was built not when it was registered that was 05\93

The TVR Car Club has some records otherwise they went with the factory and might be quite hard to trace given the current situation.

The date is encoded in the chassis Vin number, do a search on here we've explained the algorithm several times, maybe Chim or general TVR sections.

thanks spend after some research found it to be made in 93' date letter 'p' and a m for the place it was made? So i guess the cats stay on
