Folks,

I am flying to London with Malaysian Airlines and have a 7 hour transit in Kuala Lumpur International Airport. I'll be arriving around 4.30pm and leaving around 11.30pm.

Is it realistic to head into the city for a couple of hours with a transit this short? I fancy some food and a wander in Little India or Bukit Bintang over some processed stuff in the airport food court wink
Also my girlfriend who is travelling with me has never been to KL before.

I'm thinking a taxi or Aerobus to Sentral station would be reasonable if we don't have any flight delays. Has anyone done it and how did you find the experience? smile

Taxi is about rm50 each way, and takes 40 minutes (give or take rush hour trafic)

So you won't get much time, but there is not much in KLIA so at least passes the time.

Berw will be along with recommendations etc shortly

If you like massive shopping malls then it is worth heading in to see times square, massively impressive place the first time you go. You could even pass some time in the theme park on the 5th floor of the mall

The petronas towers are also worth seeing, very nice grounds around the towers to waste away some time if you like

Otherwise it isn't really worth heading in

Thanks for the suggestions in the city centre.
I've been a couple of times before, just fancy doing something interesting rather than sitting in the airport for 7 hours smile

My mate did it last night with a 4 hour stop over to see me for a cup of coffee. Taxi is 74 Rm now. pay for it with a ticket att he counter on arrival, and arrange for the taxi to pick you up to go back you get a 20 % discount arrange with the driver, this is normal and official, you need an hour each way, and an hout to clear custums each way so you will get 3 hours in the city at max.
Depend on time of day either go to KLCC (day time) or China town in the evening, Concord hotel and hard rock cafe is also ok for a 3 hour stop over.
