Hi all,there was a thread running a little while back, about someone having a custom exhaust built by a specialist company,any thoughts who, where, how good,how much ?

I have to say that I do not rate powerflow at all. I had the rear boxes on my last S6 and they were ok, but from previous cars and storys told. I used to work for a company that had a branch that did powerflow, and I'm not sure maybe it was because they were monkeys - but everything over 2.5 litre came back blown apart. So many complaints it was unreal.

ACT however is TOP. I have one. I have seen others with them, and they are much the same price and lifetime guarentee. So I have to recommend!!

+1 for ACT immediately noticed an increase in mid range pull.

This is the only place i would get a custom exhaust done. All stainless is 316 marine grade no half efforts here all the rally guys use him including the late Colin McRae.

But why go to all the trouble of having a custom exhaust made when you can buy one off the shelf from ACT that is custom made for the model of car that you have?

Powerflow stuff can be good, there is a toss up between the quality of Stainless used between them and Longlife.

However, the main issue is the quality of staff as 99% of the quality of the product is down to how much care they take and their understanding of exhaust gas dynamics.

Unfortunately they don't tend to stay at the places long due to st pay. Find somewhere with good staff and go for it.

Or... You can pay 3 times the price by going to a "proper" custom exhaust manufacturer.
