Mk 2 Escort Mirrors...time to upgrade!

Did intend to keep the bunny ear mirrors for originality but they are not very good when out driving so I am thinking of putting Mk2 escort ones on...they seem to be readily available and if I recall are a recognised/possible upgrade. My question is will they go straight on (with minimal fuss) or will it be require me to make cover plates for the holes etc. Tried search but couldn't find any suitable links. TIA Damon

Got them on mine, the holes did need filling and not, in my experience, that readily available ? They do come up on Ebay but fetch good money (must be too many people restoring old Escorts and Capris).

Prior to fitting these I had the MGB/Midget etc mirrors (which are readily available from MG specialists) but not as big as the Ford ones so field of vision not too good, imho.

I loooovvveeeee my mk5 mirrors, they even cover the orig holes if you want.

Mike/Damian, viewed you PH id's to see your cars and have to say both look good...decisions, decisions, don't fancy filling but DO fancy better mirrors. Some escort ones on the bay not cheap but are new. Will sleep on it...Thanks for the replies.

old photo, those are the MG (made by Tex, I think) mirrors.

Those on Ebay (£29.10) are copies, not genuine Ford. May be just as good quality, never seen them
