Or, what I would do is stick it on ebay, priced slightly lower than the next comparible model as a classified with a 'me an offer' button. Just sold our X-Type that way.
A W reg mondeo really will not be worth much tbh, especially if you want a quick sale. To give you a guide I paid £800 for my tatty but mechanically goood 53reg diesel Astra in January, fair enough that was from my brother, but realistically that's only worth a grand tops.
Price is key though, make it stand out as a good buy.

Stick it on freecycle for the good karma?
