Help for a young'n!!

Hi Pistonheads!!

This is my first ever post! Hope i've put it in the right place!

I'm currently the owner of a Silver/Blue Ford Focus 1.6 TDCI LX, 56 plate (my first car!) and i find that the soundsystem is somewhat lacking, is there any way that i can uprate the soundsystem whilst still keeping the boot space? I need the room as i'm always travelling up and down the country with passengers with baggage (I'm in the forces).

Any Pointers would be greatly appreciated

6x9's in the parcel shelf is what what you want.

See, i've thought about uprating the standard speakers in the doors but (sorry if this is a bit naiive) will that give me more bass and a clearer sound?

Try the Loudest.co.uk they have a very range of speakers that give
a really crisp bass with minimal distortion. They often advertise
some bargains via their ebay shop too.

So say if i buy their 1000w 6x9's and get them installed by a friend/the local halfords, will i need an amp also?

I also wondered how easily i could replace the CD player,its the sony 6000CD ... pretty basic, no MP3, no Ipod connector, not even an aux in...

There are quite few decent double din DVD players you could get on ebay too.
You don't have to have an amp but obviously the higher output the stereo has
the better job it will do with the bass !

Now, is there anywhere i could put an amp that wouldn't interfere with my luggage space? like... i dont know... on the underside of the parcel shelf? and would it be easy enough to wire it in? I want it all to be none intrusive... i'll be able to get hold of another parcel shelf anyways so i'm not bothered about the 6x9 holes

TBH to start with headunit and replace standard speakers,
Then look at a sub, pioneer and some others do flat subs which take up minimal room

You can usually fit an amp under the passenger seat. You want to upgrade the headunit and front door speakers and work from there. Bunging in a set of 6x9s will do diddly squat.
