Video: Lambo Aventador Dodges Earthquake

An Aventador not driving to the shops

At an expected price of just under £202k, the new Lamborghini Aventador is an expensive thing, so we're not quite sure why you would want to shoot its promotional video during what appears to be the start of the end of the world...

All right, all right, we know it's all just a lot of over-dramatic CGI, but once you actually start to look through all the over-blown production, this is a video of the Murcielago replacement performing some pretty natty manoeuvres.

Okay so it doesn't exactly provide much in the of serious consumer information, but it does prove that the new Aventador is clearly able to dodge what appears to be the beginnings of a fairly major earthquake with consummate ease, while also showcasing the car's off-road drifting talents. And what potential Lamborghini owner doesn't want to know about that?

I think people are missing the point. This is Lamborghini remember, kings of pointless style over substance.

For me, it's just nice to have Lambo back building proper cars. That Aventador is one nice looking vehicle.

I have never liked the Diablo, Murcielago, or Gallardo, but the Aventador... Yes please!!!

Think that's pretty cool as a promo video. Beats the usual drifting-that-spanish-circuit videos that normally surface. Should appeal to the 12 year old in us all!

Can imagine the fun that the driver had... "no, I just don't think I'm happy with that last run. Let me try again..."

I've now realised that my 9 yr old Galaxy is NOT the machine to have to escape an encounter with a major geological event e.g. earthquakes, erupting rock pillars, monster dust storms etc.

Now...where do I go to buy this car?

(feeble excuse but I might as well have one "just in case" !)

As a potential buyer of this car (euromillions dependant) I can't say I'm that impressed. Reminds me of that stupid '2012' film.

Personally I think the old LP 560-4 video was MUCH better.
