TVR S2 Heater switch question

Hello.I've just got myself my first TVR,Its a S2 and its amazing,Just one question though.When i switch the heater switch to position 1 the headlights come on,The headlight still work perfectly from the stalk,Its not really important as it gets nice and warm in there anyway without the heater on.A thousand thanks in advance.
Have you got a yellow multi connector under your steering column? I'm sure someone will post a picture soon but that is a source of a lot of problems if it hasn't been replaced.
Other than that is sounds like an earth problem. If the heater had a bad earth then it may be earthing through the lights hence turning them on. Do they come on full brightness or quite dull?
There should be an earth point on the chassis on the passenger side engine bay near the wheel. It is a threaded rod welded onto the chassis rail with a few wires going to it. May be worth cleaning the whole lot up and seeing if that makes a difference. Also the rear light cluster can cause earthing issues so cleaning the contacts on them may help.

It sounds to me like there is something connected incorrectly on those centre console switches.
I am betting you have the round spotlights under the bumper - and my guess is that when you are switching the heater on power is also being applied to the headlight main beam circuit via the spotlight circuit.
Either its as simple as a wire on the wrong terminal or someone has hacked the wiring about and messed it up.

The good news is that the fan motor was connected up wrong,so I've corrected that and my headlight issue is solved,trouble is that the fan hasn't moved for so long it is really tight to spin.I did get it spinning using wd40 and silicon spray but it wasn't very fast.Thanks for all the advice.
