It turns out that the humble, reliable and ultimately cheap Casio F-91W is the choice of watch for terrorists, claims WikiLeaks.

Nothing new, it's been known for years, identified as early as 1996 that budget Casio's were being used to detonate bombs.

wikipedia said:
United States intelligence officials have identified the F91W as a watch that terrorists use when constructing time bombs. This association was highlighted in the Denbeaux study, and may have been used in some cases at the Guantanamo Bay detention camp. An article published in the Washington Post in 1996 reported that Abdul Hakim Murad, Wali Khan Amin Shah, and Ramzi Ahmed Yousef had developed techniques to use commonly available Casio digital watches to detonate time bombs.

FFS, its just a cheap, common & reliable digital watch!

My mate who has been serving in HM Forces since the age of 17 has worn Casio's throughout his time. I think the Yanks are being paranoid to say that anyone 'caught' wearing a Casio F-91 is a likely suspect. Jeeezus, no wonder GITMO is so controversial.

Yeah, same one as my father has, although the condition of my Dad's looks like it has already taken part in a midnight bombing.

Happy memories of O'level /A'level exams, big draughty school halls, and 50-odd watches bleeping every hour, on the hour.

Or, if it was similar to my school: somewhere "near" the hour, every hour. hehe
