Speedo cable Help required

I have lost all indication of speed on my 280i Auto, I have traced this back to the plastic gear on the transmision end of the cable. I went to order one from a 2.8i capri from a motor outlet, but when it turned up it was different. Can anyone advise on the cable make or supplier please.

well not a great deal of help, But I have sussed it. It is a ford C3 gearbox. The beval drive gear i want is £17 plus vat. but there is a few different ones avalible. I have got to count the number of gears to identify the right one.

Have you tried a search on the Wedge section? The question may have been asked before? Sorry for the no help but maybe this will bump up to the eyes of someone who does?
