Get wheels painted like this

I'm wondering about having a set of wheels painted in a manor somewhat similar to the wheel above. Obviously not black and red, but the places I've found so far won't actually do this. They will do whatever colour I want, but don't seem able to 'mask off' part of the wheel and paint it in two tones.

Any recommendations would be great.

Why are you having it done in a Manor? Surely a wheel refurbishers would be a better bet?

Easiest solution is to paint the wheels all one colour and use motorbike rim tape to stick a stripe on the edge. This also allows you to experiment with different colours with minimal prep work. I got my last lot of rim tape off ebay for a couple of quid.

I would have thought any decent paint shop would be able to do that for you????

One would have thought as much - but the wheel refurbishers don't seem too keen as do the paint shops!

Get some split rims, then you can paint the bits separately before you assemble them.

there is a black Ford Focus parked up road to me with Black and red as per the picture

but got loads of kerbing so the red is missing

it looks KRAP to be honest

So, any paintshop recommendations to do this based on experience?

Don't know where you are in the country, but my friend took his Monaro wheels to this place (the one in Titchfield, Hampshire) and they did an excellent job. Some of their display wheels had detailing colouring similar to your photo.

I took my rims there a while ago and they couldn't do what I wanted unfortunately (although the rims on my OH's Elise went there for the full treatment and came back looking lovely) so I ended up at my local friendly bodyshop. It did cost a smattering more than a simple one colour jobbie, but the effect is exactly what I wanted:

This trend seems popular with the rice crowd at the moment. With mixed results I might add.

Probably because its a PITA to do.
And no, I won't touch multi coloured wheels either.

Check these out as a very cheap way of achieving the look - might be a good way to test the look/colour on your car. Plus, if they get kerbed you just order another set.

Give Lepsons a call - they may or may not do them but they did a good job on my polished rim alloys.
