Hi all, have just bought my first Griff, will pick it up on Friday 6th May (can't wait looking forward to that great V8 open topped motoring experience). It's colour as given in the handbook is - Pirden Blue TVR Code 12L? Have looked about on the web and cannot find any reference to this colour (fantastic electric blue)? Have any of you guys heard of this colour? I would like to get some mixed up so will be looking for the relevant codes etc.
It could be Rolls Royce Twilight Blue according to the below thread:

Hi Matthew, yes it was at Hilton & Moss we met! New member then ands was waiting to sell my then current classic car to be able to buy a Griff. Pick her up next Friday, 6th May. She is a 1992 completely original pre-cat 4.3, runs like a dream and has been well looked after. Had to travel to Yorkshire to view on Monday, but will travel up on a train with a pal and drive her back - looking forward to it!!
I believe "LordGrover" is right it may well be ARDEN BLUE the text in the handbook was handwritten and I could have misinterpreted it when looking at the documents.
Hopefully taking her to the Mid-Essex meet on 8th May.

Yes I remember showing you around my Griff at Hilton & Moss as you were looking to buy one. I am glad you have managed to find one that met your approval. She does look like a very nice example indeed and well worth a trip to Yorkshire.
Unfortunately I am not able to make the next Mid Essex meet which is a shame but I shall look forward to having a closer look at one of the meets later on in the year.

I have solved the colour query chaps! It is Vauxhall Arden Blue!! With the link sent through from "LordGrover" I have traced a colour reference of 12L, that is the reference I took down from the Handbook, thank you. Very pleased it is not some weird unknown colour. Once I get the car home I want to have the N/S door mirror sprayed up, that was the only area of paint damage. I work in a specialist vehicle company and our paintshop boys will soon be able to mix up the colour for me.

I too have a 'what's the colour' problem.
I need to do some scratch repairs so I ordered a kit; taking the colour written in the car's handbook, Cobalt Blue, and the code P147 as shown in PH's TVR Paint Code wiki, as references. What I got was not even close, way too dark and non-metallic.
So I tried again using the code TVR011, Cobalt Blue, 2002, P422-2888B from the Alternative Paint Code wiki, and was told that is a red colour.
I then tried the paint code on a old paint tin used in a previous repair: Centari 6000 3-1 Mix; Colour: COBALT BLUE EFFECT - Code: 2668B, Fichel: F5772, and that drew a blank from the suppliers as well.
Now the confusing bit: I found another TVR Paint Code list on PH that gives the code for Cobalt Blue as: Cobalt Blue: P422~2868B Porsche 38u, which the suppliers can do; whereas, the Alternative Paint Code wiki gives: R2685, Cosmos Blue, 2002, 2868B, Porsche, 38U.
Any ideas, any body?

Thanks LG, the Alternative Paint Code List is based on info from Malcolm potato muncher, but it does warn that there maybe errors. I'll try a PM.
