Tyre pressures for Euro trip?
Discussion
Hi all
ill be going to the Mille Miglia in Italy in a couple of weeks. Will cross the Alps and do the infamous Davos-Stelvio bit.
There will be 2 of us and a full boot.
Are there any recmmendations on whether tyre pressures should be altered for longer trips laden with luggage, or trips at hogher altitude?
I only ask because runnong at 24psi seems a bit low for such a soft compound tyres with the extra weight.
Or maybe I am thinking the whole thing thtough too much.
Any help/pointers much appreciated.
BTW It's an 'S'.
Cheers

the roads in the UK are worse than on the main land
overhere they are all nice and smooth and in a lot of country's speeding is allowed.
you will need stiffer spring/shock settings
off course this will only work if you have adjustable shocks
if you still have the originals you will find the backside to weak (car will feel like a rocking chair).

Err Rens thats a bit of a statement. I've come to the conclusion we're not so bad off in the UK in the roads department compared to some of the stuff on the mainland.overhere they are all nice and smooth and in a lot of country's speeding is allowed.

Belgium Motorways
(sorry Pascal)German Landstrasse
(sorry Thomas)and plenty more.
Must say it was a pleasure to get onto the Dutch Motorway in between Germany and Belgium this week although Germany are spending lots on resurfacing at the moment.
errrrr
youre right
there are bad roads overhere too
but 29 psi and a stiffer setup wont harm you on the bad roads
it will give you a benefit on the good/nice ones
he's heading for the mille miglia and will travel through a lot of country's
through germany (autobahn with an average of >100 mph) and austria or the french route de soleil.
if you take the french speedway be carefull. they can check the traveltime between getting te tolway ticket and havind to pay for it.
