Cerb seat back repair.

Just noticed when I got out of the car today that the leather on the seat back of my drivers seat has come un tucked between the seat back cushion and the surround (see photo's below).
Tried tucking it back in but it comes loose again when I get in and out of the car a few times.

Can I remove the middle part of the seat to glue it back under or is there a better way of fixing it ? I have noticed a few cerb seats doing this in the past so wondered if there is an easy solution or if anyone has had the same problem here.



Also, there are a few cracks / small tears appearing in the side bolster and was wondering if there is a 'smart repair' option rather than having the panels of leather replaced.
Don't want to re upholster the 2 seats as otherwise they are spotless.





Thought I'd post over here even though they are in a Griff, as they are Cerbera seats in the SE cars and all that.

The fibreglass back shell of the seat is held on to the frame by 4 screws. One either side of the headrest and two low down at the back of the seat. Pull the headrest right out, undo the screws and you should be able to ease the whole shell off.

I don't have a fibreglass rear shell though, it's a leather covered rear so I can't just remove the shell and get access

Aaghhh, but the rear shell (albeit leather not fibreglass) may still come off by unscrewing those 4 screws that I've always wondered what the hell they hold on !! Good call, cheers.

The rear shell is fibreglass covered in foam then a layer of scrim (to stop the leather abrading the foam) then finally leather. You just need to stick the leather back down to the inside of the fibreglass where it is coming away.

There are leather repair specialists that can do a good job on a damaged bolster, there may be kits that you can use yourself. The alternative is to re-cover the seat back.

Are the seats cerb mk1 style or Tuscan? I assume the former. So am not sure how on mk1 seats u access the rear of the seat. The leather though looks damaged which I assume needs a re trimmer to resolve..?

I can only recommend the stuff from Lederzentrum. There is a video showing how to repair cracked and ripped leathers on this site:

From what I understand, they also supply their products to Swizzvax who sell it with a different logo. I have managed to rejuvenate some pretty worn leathers with these.

From the pictures the damage looks pretty bad though (do you hav scissors attached to your clothes?!), but if the stuff from Lederzentrum doesn't help you may have to retrim.

They look like the mk1 seats, which you access as I described. Undo the 4 screws and the whole back of the seat slides up off the frame. In a Cerb you need to take the seat out to get it off but in the OPs Griff with the roof down I should think it could be done in situ.

I have no idea how you dismantle the Tuscan style seats.

No Scissors !! Just those stupidly sharp rivets on Levi Jeans Gutted when it happened, the 2 'holes' were done in one swift exit of the car

Failing that, try one of the furniture repair specialists. I had great and long lasting results on a cat scratch down the middle of the back of a cream leather sofa.

Have emailed James at ti22 - my local Swissvax detailer and he does leather repairs, so hopefully he should be able to sort my drivers seat. Cheers for the advice

Let me know about the seats - our Cerbera is leather, definitely - and it's lasted well. The T350 I believe is Vinyl, and has, on the drivers side, got the small tears in the side bolsters - would love to sort them asap.

Could well be. The build details for the car state 1/2 leather - which half is not stated

1/2 leather means about 1/10th leather ie the bum pad and elbow rest only (or something like that).

Sounds about right Gaz, although my dash does appear to be leather.

Let us know how you get on with it, as mentioned earlier, the bolsters in the T350 (vinyl?) need some attention too.
