Hi, I need a new boiler, and was looking at the Remeha Avanta 28c, however a recommended plumber has questioned their support post baxi merger. He seems to 'know his onions', and has told me they've pretty much pulled out of all the main suppliers in my area (South West) as they all sell more Baxi. He's sugesting the Worcester Greenstar Junior 28i, which looks pretty good based on internet reviews, or an ideal Logic as it has a 5 year warrantee, and both based on their backup service.

Can anyone recommend either the Ideal Logic or Worcester and their backup service?

I have the next size down in Worcester, the 24i, and am very impressed with it as its very quiet and seems to provide lots of hot water very quickly.

I dont know what their service is like but my plumber recommended them and wont fit anything else but that brand as he says they last very well.

I had a Halstead before and it was st, it had rotted in 4 years since the previous occupants had installed it

Our last project used Avantas exclusively and they are faultless. I raised the question of the Baxi buyout with our plumber and he says they are still available in all the merchants he uses.

We USED to use Worcester and Vaillant....

I suppose the best option would be the manufacturer whose service department never gets calls at all.
I have a 5 year old-ish Vaillant - believe the newer ones aren't quite so good though.
