'03 jag 3.0 v6 tax question

I'm looking at buying an '03 plate Jag X-type 3.0 v6. I've checked the tax band and autotrader is saying 'L' at about £450/annum and other sites are saying 'K' at about £250/annum.
Parkers is saying it is temporarily band 'K' but doesn't say for how long!

Can anyone clarify this for me? I.e what the road tax is likely to be for the next few years...

As it's made before 2006, with the current VED bands, it's £260 for 12 months. (http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicle/HowToTaxYourVehicle/DG_10012524)
Parkers says "temporary" because the previous government were going to make all cars made post 2001 subject to the same VED bands as post 2006 cars. This was reversed and at the moment, the current Government are not planning to change the situation (ie all pre 2006 cars have a £245 max). Will they change this? Dunno. You can argue it's less likely to happen as each year goes on and less pre-2006 cars are on the road.
Tax prices will rise but by how much? Again, dunno but I'd bet that assured the rise will be at least £10 a year. However, you're driving a V6 Jag and even if VED for it went up to £400 pa, that's peanuts compared to what you'll be paying for fuel.

It will spend most of its life as a motorway cruiser so mpg should be acceptable. Most of my fuel will be company funded, so as long as it gets near to 30mpg I'll be OK. For some reason I find the nod-to-the-greens tax a little more distasteful...
