Importing Porsche from Germany?

I'm considering the purchase of a Porsche (either Boxster Spyder, Cayman S or Cayman R) but was wondering whether it might be more cost effective to buy brand new (or second hand) from Germany instead of here in the UK.

Can anyone confirm if this is likely, what is involved and any recommendations on companies worth using to take care of it all. Also whether Porsche honour the warranty in the UK in this instance?

Any help/pointers appreciated.

Google Berlin Export car sales (or something like that I can't remember exactly)

A friend on mine bought a G-Wagon 500 V8 from Berlin a couple of years back for HALF the UK price of the same age over here. (paid cash and drove it home)

It is LHDrive, but as he says, when he comes to sell it he has the whole of Europe to offer it to!

I know someone now living in Germany and looking to buy a car from the uk.
I think cars are expensive in Germany and the exchange rate doesn't help.
Mike brewer tried it a few years ago with a m3 and it didn't go well!
