Any suggestions from PH'ers? It's a little outside my local knowledge, but wondered in there were any locals in the house!

Oh, and it's kind of a first date..

Not a great choice in Twickers or Richmond, Teddington has a reasonable Italian, details here:

Pizzeria Rustica near Richmond station is quite nice, but as the name would suggest is based largely around pizzas. I don't recall if they do pasta, as I'm very much a pizza fan.

There is Angelo's in Twickenham, but I haven't been there in 5 or 6 years, so no idea what its like now.

Richmond also has all the usual chain places. Kingston which isn't far down the road also has a branch of Jamies Italian, which seems reasonably well regarded.

Try these:

Osteria Pulcinella - http://www.osteriapulcinella.co.uk/

Somebody also mentioned Angelo's which is pretty good and near the Green end of the high st

There's also a Zizzi in Twickenham.

Don't take her to Zizzi's please, you might regret it. I did frown

The food at Angelo's is excellent but I'm not sure its somewhere you would want to take someone on a first date, its a bit rough and ready, a lunchtime place really. Rubiks near Orleans Park used to be good, they used to have an excellent singer/guitarist there at the weekend. Havent been for 4 or 5 months though.

If you really want to impress her (and it's a lunch thing...) there's always the Petersham Nurseries cafe/restaurant...

Not too keen on their dinner menu, but lunch looks appetising, may go along and try it soon.

Bacco in Richmond do proper, high quality Italian food. One of my favourite locals, next to the Orange Tree Theatre.

If you scoot accross the park then Enoteca Turi on Putney High Street (just before the bridge) is excellent.

It's a bit out of the way, but at the top of Barnes, on Castelnau, there is a little Italian called San Remo. Very, very good Italian food. Great atmosphere.
