Does anyone know where I could get a t-shirt or polo shirt in the Gulf blue and orange colours? I saw someone wearing one with a 917 badge on it the other day, which looked excellent...

Thanks guys.

I'm not yet a member - has anyone else ordered without putting a membership number down and managed to get served?

Or am I going to have to join up?

Tim

Just checked with HQ -you don't have to be a member of the Club to purchase from the Clubshop.

But joining highly recommended!!

If you smoke a pipe, like wearing slippers and polish your car more than drive it!

slippers are great, just the thing for nipping out to the garage to polish the car one more time before bed

I didn't get a 10% discount from my OPC perhaps it was because I'd forgotten the pipe, slippers and polish

Got a 917 T-shirt for myself (and a sexy little 'un for Mrs Infernored) at the PCGB regional meet/concours yesterday at Bowood house, went along to see if I fancied joining and might well do, even though Im not the concours type and am erm, not eligable for saga holidays yet....
Seriously though everyone was very friendly that I spoke to and there were some VERY nice cars there being rightly shown off, only makes mine look even more shabby!

Funny you should say that Mel, but the Service Manager at AFN Reading said something similar when he was talking to me about different types of Porker owners, he said that a surprising number get their cars servciced their and then scream blue murder when they don;t get their 10% PCGB discount, as he said, all they have to do is mention it when the car goes in and then it's no problem. and they hardly ever do, methinks they just like posturing and chucking their unsprung weight around at their 'exclusive car' showroom, etc.

Just a thought, is it not best to ask for your 10% discount AFTER they have drawn up your bill? The cynic in me says that if you tell them you want a 10% discount before they start work on the thing, then they will find ways of clawing back that 10% during the service, if you know what I mean.

They should ask you whether you're a member when you book the car in - just goes to show that they don't really promote the club to Porsche owners.

What else do the club provide? An enthusiastic bunch of Area Organisers - sorry scratch that - they used to provide that before they sacked them for not doing their (voluntary) jobs well enough.

Mel how do know what I asked and when? Are you monitoring my thoughts?

I did asked (before they started the work) and was told that as my car was older than 5 years (or whatever it is) I was getting a discount on labour/parts anyway and they would not give me the PCGB discount.
