Seat cushion

Do any of you guys use a seat cushion under your thighs. I haven't driven my car in a year or so, but I noticed my legs cramped up after only 5 miles. Something about the angle of the Ultima seat, the driver position, and the flat floorpan. I'm 6'0" and had the seat pushed all the way back. I've been hitting the weights quite a bit. Maybe it had something to do with it.

An alternative that I believe will help, is to install a heelplate that you can rest your feet against. This will save your thigh muscles as you won't have to use them so much to keep your legs lifted.

When driving the CanAm, if I'm not shifting, my foot is always on the dead pedal for body support.

The new build CD has some nice pics of the factory version dead pedal. If you don't have the latest CD yet, I recommend it. Much better organized, and more pics.

Yes agree with the foot rest. Did 300miles in CAnam over weekend in comfort. Accelerator foot resting with heal on bracket and left foot on passenger 'panic plate'. BTW the tall mirror stalks were actually designed for attaching white ribbon too at weddings.

Thanks. This gives me a few ideas to go on. Not looking forward to spending a weekend upside down under the dash again. I did this about a month ago to reposition the pedals to give me clearance for my bias cable. I'd forgotten about heel plates. I should have installed a dead pedal when I was building the car. I haven't seen the latest factory build CD. You guys should have seen the build manual that came with my kit back in 1999! A handfull of color photos, a few diagrams, and a few torque specs. Ultima's come a long way in the photo department.
