Fitting a sail shade
Discussion
I've bought a 5m triangular sail shade and am planning on fitting one end to a large tree, one to a 6x6 post and one to my house.
As the sail will be tensioned quite tightly, I'm concerned about the load placed on the house fitting - I don't want bricks to split or get pulled out (if this can happen?).
Will bolting a eye plate across two bricks (using concrete screws like these) do the job, or is there a better way?

I would probably put in one of these:

It would take a lot to pull it out, just don't overtighten it in the brickwork.
Your other option is a resin type fixing, something like this:

You have to make sure all the dust is removed from the hole and don't drill all the way through the brick so the resin goes into the cavity between courses!

Make sure you have an elasticated line running from the sail to the fixing. In high winds unhook it.

I think you can even buy the fixings for the job. I wouldn't 'wing it' if I were you.
