Hi, I have just had a run in my Tamora for the first time in 3 weeks and think I may have a problem with the PAS. (Driving cars in the US in that time hasn't helped, ie land yachts with very light PAS), but when I jumped in my Tam today after washing it I found the steering very hard.

Has anyone had any PAS problems ? Otherwise I'm off to the dealers tomorrow.

Thanks

Never heard of that one Steve - the power steering is an electric system, rather than hydraulic - could be a relay failure?

Thanks Nubbin. Racing Green had a quick and changed the relay but with no success. Seems a strange one and they are waiting on the factory for guidance.

Thought I would give an update incase another PH'er comes across this problem.

The nice chaps at Racing Green had a 'good look round' and it seems like the problem was the bush in the footwell. Pump and relay were fine. They have greased it up and all is now fine. May get a new one at the next service but we are monitoring it. I will only add a new post if it ends up being something else.

I had that problem on my T350 but the bush that is in the bulkhead was squeeking like a piggy so a bit of grease sorted it out and it's been o.k. since (3 months).
Sorry, I didn't connected the two problems.

Hi, I had a prob with my power steering, not long after i bought it from new. And i had just washed the car aswell, We took the car back to our dealers, who sorted the prob out in under five minutes.
I have a T350 so i imagine you have the same electric power steering as i do??
The problem was caused because water had got into a rather large connector block, located somewhere near the oil header tank and just to the rear of the rads.
TVR had mounted this junction box upside down(no surprise there then!!!) so that water was actually collecting in the connector like a cup, and not running over the connection. It was blown dry by a machanic, which cured the problem. They also turned the junction the right way up, and we have had no more probs (with the power steering anyway!!!).
Hope this long winded answer helps.

Dave.... Yellow T350c (check my profile)

I just had a problem with mine too. Drove it to work fine. Went out at lunchtime and found the steering v heavy.

After some fruitless investigation on my part I phoned Racing Green. Martin (Cheers ) told me that there are two usual culprits:

1. A blown 7.5 amp fuse on the fuse board under the steering column marked as lambda heaters (?!?! what’s that got to do with steering) in the handbook

2. the in line 80 amp fuse housed in a lipstick sized block, which is in turn housed inside the battery compartment or taped to the tubular frame just forward of said compartment. Only thing is, you have to take the wheel off to investigate this one.

Mine was no. 2. The next question is why did it blow? Anyone know??

As said above check these two things before any thing else.

Mine was No. 1 , and as soon as the powering sterring pump stopped working I also got a "heater flap fault"up on the LCD dash.
