£25K Budget - What should I buy?

Guys, Im actively looking for a new car, primarily for weekend hoonage. Not hugely concerned about petrol consumption due to limited mileage, probably 7,000 miles pa and can cope with two seats.

Im keen on a Boxster S but by brother already owns one, so Id like something different.

Currently considering the following but would welcome any new ideas around this budget? I dont want to lose too much in depreciation, so no new cars please - ideally less than 5 years old.

Cayman S (too similar to the Boxster?)
Focus RS Mk2
Lotus Elise / Exige

Welcome your thoughts on what I should consider?

I know you say under 5 years old, but if you expand that a little, you will be able to get some very exotic metal!

My suggestion would be an SL55 AMG.

Personally, I would expand the 5 years out a little & be looking at:

TVR Tuscan
TVR Cerbera
TVR Griff / Chim & loads of change

ETA SL55 is a good suggestion & SLK55 could be worth considering

I certainly like the idea of an SL55 AMG, I would guess that they are pretty static in terms of depreciation (quite a big factor for me). What 993 should I be looking at for circa £25k.. will it stretch to a 993 c2s? Im not sold on TVR's build quality to be investing £25k of my hard earned on one. Devil - you mentioned you would avoid an Focus Rs Mk2, any particular reason?

Iv got a focus rs and i love it! Wouldnt say its a weekend toy though, and unfortunatley it will depreciate! Cracking car though!

You're also in 996 Turbo money there if you don't mind pushing the 5 year rule.

Engine won't suffer with IMS issues that can affect other modern porkers, depreciation will be glacial, and it will blow your brother's Boxster S away.

I have a normal Focus, and its fantastic, so i guess the Rs is just sensational. But, tbh, if its for weekends only, then id want something less practical (thats alot of rear seat/ extra weight you are carrying around).
