Great day today, flew over to Le Touquet for a few hours and some lunch, took Paul from Mid-Essex along for the ride. Then get back and drove open top in the Tuscan to mates for a relaxing BBQ...to round off a great day.... It doesn't get any better then this....

Al,

Had a really great time today!

For me the day started with putting the roof down on the Chimp and then cruising in the morning sun from Braintree to Southend airport to meet Al, the traffic was light at 9am and the sun warm, excellent.

I met Al at the airport and he went through all the pre-flight checks before the 30min flight to Le Touquet, excellent visibility on the way over gave great views of dover and the french coastline from Boulogne to Le Touquet, Al put in a perfect landing and we went into town for lunch on the sea front, followed by a spot of shopping!

We left mid afternoon from Le Touquet and had even better visibility on the way back, which with a slight head wind took about 5 mins longer, we flew in over Southend pier on approach to Southend and landed smoothly.

Then roof down again on the Chimp and cruised home in the afternoon sun.

Excellent weather, all the toys to play with and above all good company!

Similar to my day.

I've trimmed the hedges at our house and then went to mums to trim hers as she's just had an op and can't do anything.

The view from the ladder was great, better at the top. I could see at least 5 other gardens. On my decent, I missed the last rung and bruised my shin. Still managed to get on the ground in one piece.

My trip to the other side of Crewe was under clear blue sky which ensured great visability through my windscreen.

Got home just in time to mow the back lawn.

A great day. Who needs planes when you've got a hedge trimmer with a faulty trigger?

As for Greece/Cyprus....3 stops! Although no in-flight service will be provided...well...unless you bring along the chicks and bubbly

The best view I got yesterday was from One Tree Hill.

I could see Pitsea Tesco's and Safeway's on Canvey from there

I had my aeroplane fix on Saturday at Coltishall.
There was a display there, which included a 9 ship Jaguar flypast

I'm doing an interesting flight this year, having only been on a plane once when I was about 5, from Stapleford.

London Heathrow to Fairford Airshow in a 747-400

£125 Return including entrance to the show.

Lee - it will take longer to board and disembark the aircraft than it will to fly from LHR to Fairford.

I dont think you will see much of the film........

It's only about a 15 minute flight I think.

On the tickets it says "There is no catering because of the short duration of the flight."

It will probably take longer than driving there taking into account checking in etc.
