2 Samuris into one!
Discussion
Hi all,
I have just purchased a second Samuri to sit on the drive in a non-useable state next to the other one which is equally unuseable!!
My project is to get one good one out of the two starting with moving the engine and installing a new gearbox next weekend.
I would appreciate it if anyone has any info, documents, instructions related purely to the Samuri if they could let me know if I could get photocopies of them as I need all the help I can get. I fix computers not cars so this is a bit of a challenge! lol
I'm using the 1600 XFlow for now and will see how it goes but may upgrade later.
Thanks in advance

No its just that unfortunately there are shed loads more Geeps/Sanderos than there were Samuri's.
Any Jago vehicle and its owner are welcome on this forum, in to the Jago Owners Club etc.
In effect I wish there were more Sammie owners who would like to join in on this forum.
We have a Geep (being totally rebuilt) a Sandero (running on LPG) and a Samuri (totally rebuilt a few years ago and will be going to LPG when time allows).
Perhaps the Sammies are more reliable LOL.
I did do a lot of stuff a few years ago on rebuilding a Sammie but no one wanted to know at that time.
We would also like owners of the hot rods Geoff and the crew produced to join in here and also join the club, but I suppose that is up to them.
What are the specs on your Sammie by the way?
What actual info is it you need to do the rebuild?

Cheers for the reply - I guessed that was the case, the Sammies were always outnumbered from the start!
I've ended up keeping the 1600 XFlow (well I think it is!!!) in the red sammie with the original gearbox. I'm not sure if it is ok yet - I bought a new gearbox from Ian H up north but didnt open it for a month and the bellhousing had been smashed. Morale of this is to check it on delivery else you can't go back to Securicor!!!
I've had it running so I know all the electrics and stuff are working. I replaced all the fuel lines as there were quite a few leaks.
I just need to get a new heater hose and some rubber to seal the roof panels and then it should be going - not sure if the brakes will need attention but probably!
Unfortunately it's all been delayes as my Mitsubishi Pajero water pump has a leak so I have been stripping that one down - I'm not good at this mechanics - usually fix computers!!!!

We tried various seals for the Targa panels when doing the rebuild of Panther.
In the end as taking the Targas on and off caused "tracks" to form in the seals so allowing leaks we had a soft cover made to go over the front roof (fixed at the back just to the rear of the roll over bar raise in the roof) which covers the Targas so stopping leaks but still allowing the removal of the Targas in good weather.

Sounds like a plan! have you got the dimensions of this cover you made and how it attaches please?
I had the sammie moving yesterday but found that the radiator once full leaks very badly all the way along the underside of the top tank. I've found a recon one on Ebay though so should be able to get that fitted in the next couple of days. Then it is just tidying up the lighting and odd bits for MOT :-)
