After a log time suspended above my build, I have now test-fitted the cab again while I do some mods and fit the stalks. This body was prefitted a few years ago by the factory.

OK so got the cab on, and I see that the dash front that curves under the chassis pipe doesn't actually snugly 'wrap' around the pipe as I expected. At best it just shields it from the eye. I also presume that the dash front panel 'floats' in front of the horizontal chassis pipe? Yes?

The front panel wraps a just little around the pipe near the doors, but in the centre it stands back by at least 10-15 mm. I can't remember what it was like those many years ago and I want to be sure there is not anything wrong - I have checked to see if there is anything stopping it springing into place, and the front and sides are all in the right position.

I presume the factory will be closed so can someone check theirs and let me know if this is normal?

cheers

Keith

Well from what I can remember when I fitted mine is as you describe. Surely if it was not right the rest would not fall into place, ie the top dropping onto the M6 threads bonded into the side pods and the front lip of the cab not sitting against the front top chassis rail.

Yeah, the front is sitting over the box rail OK, and the sides are over the threaded bolts - it always was a bit of a jiggle to get it overe the front though.

It is probably as designed, but I just need to be sure!

I wanted to go to Stoneleigh Sunday, but family has been dropped on me for a weekend visit - so diplomacy says I want to keep my nagers a bit longer, therefore can't get to ask the factory this weekend!

cheers
