Does the 2.5 have the safety solenoid?

As the above suggests need to know if the 2.5s came with the safety solenoid please? I had my battery out (trying to solve problems from thread link below)trying to trace the solenoid, but it just wasnt there...

I think the safety solenoid is more important on the 6-speed cars, since the positive main terminal on the starter is very close to the fuel tank. IIRC, on the five-speed cars, the starter is more on top of the trans, so the terminals aren't close to anything.
That said, it wouldn't be a bad idea or a hard job to install the safety solenoid if you haven't got one. That way, you don't have a heavy gauge wire live all the time - it's live only when it's being used by the starter.
