Air filter - where the bloody hell is it?

Also is it a bit chavvy to replace it with a performance one eg apex, if not any recommendations?

How loud are they, I don't want something that draws to me. Want something that sounds good helps the engine but does not shout boy racer, does that make sense?
How easy are they to fit?

Go for a BMC CDA intake or Pipercross venom, they arn't as offensive as the open filters but give a throaty raw when floored and help intake flow and temperatures.
Easy to fit just remove airbox an replace with parts that you are sent, you won't look like a boy racer unless you floor it through town centre's.

Ah thats where it's hidden away, bloody thing been trying to find it for the last few mins.
Will leave it for the morning now, neighbours will give me strange looks if I go back out there now and start tinkering with it.
What can I do to try to improve responsiveness, it's been parked up for a while and when I took it out earlier felt a little sluggish.
Changed the oil and plugs given it an Italian tune up but it's still not feeling as responsive as I remember. I remember it feeling a lot quicker before I parked it up for the winter, it used to really pull like a train after 5k revs but now feels flat all the way upto to 7k.
Any suggestions?

Oh and yes I did make sure the fuel was very low before parking it up and have now had a tank of fresh fuel through it, done about 400 miles on the last few days, so it's not stale fuel.

That's what I was hoping, I have replaced oil, filter and plugs but it's not made any difference.
Will change air filter in morning and see if that does anything.

Once I can figure out why it's feeling a bit sluggish can then look at getting an after market filter to help it sound a little better. Do the after market filter kits help performance or is it simply to make the car sound better? I always thought that people like k and n were simply for looks and did nothing to the cars performance, is this the case?

My car feals slow to me but still keeps up with Scoobies on track, it's what you get used to.

How do I know of a maf sensor is knackered?

Not sure if its due to me having been driving other cars over winter and now thinking this is slow. Maybe I should get someone else to take it for a spin and see what they say. It's strange but just seems to be hard work having to really push through the rev range in every gear to get anything from it.
