Hi

Anyone had one of the bolts that fix the rear shock/dampner fail ? (930)

I did on Saturday. Very luckily it snapped off at 20mph and not whilst I was doing 120mph. Otherwise the obvious result would of catastrophic!

Anyway I've actually had Penske make me up custom shocks and those are what were fitted on the rears (no torsion bar).

The bolt that actually goes through the eye of the damper and holds it to the swing arm, snapped. Pretty worrying. The bolt broke off in the actual swing arm - so there was 4mm of thread on the bolt that fell out. (i found the bolt on the road) Does that tell us anything ? Perhaps it had been overtightned causing a harline stress fracture that at some would fail ?

Anyone had something similiar ?
My thinking is that it was overtightened the last time it was put toghether?

Damaged the rear wing as well and something's happened to the clutch. Now have very little travel on the pedal . not a happy bunny at the moment. Only glad it was at low speed

Thanks
