My Chim has a small tear in the rear window.

I've got two options - replace the screen on its own, or replace the whole roof. It's about £160 vs. £450 + VAT IIRC.

The roof is only about 18 months old so seems a shame to replace the lot. However the place I got the quote from said they wouldn't recommend getting the screen done on its own because "unless the holes for the stitches match up perfectly it's going to look a mess".

Has anyone had just the window replaced? Happy with the results? Where would you recommend (Manchester area)?

I would probably just replace the screen if the whole hood is only 18 months old but I think I would get a second opinion from a different company, however there price for a new roof is pretty good in my opinion.

Just get the screen done. If your roof is in good condition there is no point getting a new one. Waste of money. Had my screen changed early last year and looks great. If you looked really really close at the stitching you may see evidence that it has been changed, but realistically i'm not sure why anyone would want to look that close!

Can't suggest anyone near Manchester unfortunately, I had mine changed by Gary Creasy near St Albans, Herts and can highly recommend if you are ever down this way, drop off in morning & pick up in afternoon.

I get the new roof in time for the winter, but patch up the old one for the summer when you keep taking the roof down and putting it back up again, and change to the new roof for the winter, and rotate until you sell the car.
i hate putting my new roof down, as i think its only a matter of time until it gets damaged :-(
IMHO of course
