1. If I was seen by the police driving broadside round an island, could I be done for anything?

2. If I wasn't seen by the police but I had filmed it and posted it on the internet, could this be used as evidence against me?

I think you might find the words, Dangerous Driving, or Driving Without Due Care, being mentioned.....were you seen.

But I doubt anybody will care about whats in a video on the web. Or get the Mirror to publish it, and as it's then fake you'll be ok

There was someone that did get done for speeding (hey ho what a surprise) because they had filmed themselves doing it.

Strangely they didnt kill anyone so the evidence probably disappeared in case Brunstroms claims that anyone doing .5MPH over the speed limit will instantly die came to light as lies

So blank my plates, any road signs, flip the film and say it was abroad, before putting it on my website.

And put a big sign in the background saying "Welcome to North Wales".

Urrrmmmmm

You don't need a NIP to proceed against a person for wanton/furious driving of a carriage so as to endanger life or limb under section 78 Highways Act 1835

No body notice a report last week that a person is being done for causing death by driving a motor vehicle under the Offences Against the Persons Act because they didn't want an argument as to whether the locus was a road or not.

All seems a bit harsh for a perfectly controlled bit of broadside. However I'd love to have points for furious driving lol

me too - it would be like Kudos points in GothaM Racing

The reason that chap got done for speeding was he stuck it on the web with a 'I did this in the UK, my name is xx, and I can be arrested at the fiollowing address:' - not entirely genius!

Im sure if you put it up on the web somewhere that'd be fine.

Anyway - I KNOW that entire video could be created using Premiere or similar....so who's to say it really is your car at all?!!!

Hehe. What are the penalties for that and is it summary?

As it is very old legislation then punishment if found Guilty was a week in the Stocks..............

Now, summary offence, max 200 notes. So one of the very few offences where Their Worships likely to impose the Maximum.

Special offer - I'll do it for 200 notes and use a biro (that's what the courts seem to do, anyway!)

Why do you need to do this on a road?

For your and everyone elses saftey, go to somewhere where the people that own the surface do not mind you doing this, you will endanger no one and if you get it wrong, you will not damage anything (even your own car!) It will not even cost you a lot of money! Probably less than the cost of an endorsable ticket!

Why do you need to do this anyway to embelish your website?

I don't think your insurance company would be very impressed about points for 'furious driving'. In fact on the contrary , and I think you would be of the same attitude when the renewal notice arrives !

I'm not saying I do, it was a hypothetical question.

I suppose a hypothetical answer might be because roads have roundabouts.

I do often go to Bruntingthorpe. If I was to broadside on a public road I wouldn't do it with other cars around (could be of duty Bib) and never at a speed where anything more than me facing the wrong direction would occur.

I don't have a website as I said it was a hypothetial question

But if there is no-one else near the roundabout, he IS endangering no-one. Drifties round a perfectly empty rbt at 20 - 30 mph must be one of the safest forms of fun known to man... i get SO ANNOYED with folk who dont like to see other ppl enjoying themselves!
