After the success of the Hawker Tempest group build it seems thoughts are turning to a new one and as such I thought I would start this discussion thread so we could discuss potential subject matter.

As per my post on the other thread I'm not able to contribute at present but am hoping this will change in future. If anyone has issues with a non-participant helping to organise this then please say so but I'll continue until I hear otherwise.

We've had a few suggestions but would be grateful if they could be repeated here, other than that let the discussion commence.

So will it be vehicular?

(no I won't use a horse and cart I just happened to have lying around finished...)

I'm up for almost anything if I don't have to spend huge chunks of pension to join in, I have a five year old Formula One thingy lying around somewhere. Blue and white it is.

Inna box, unbuilt...

It might be. This is the suggestions stage, once this over I'll produce a poll with the suggestions and the one that gets the most votes is selected as the GB subject.

AFV of some sort. I've discovered a few more vehicles in my stash - including a Mathchbox 1/76 30 cwt Chevvy and Jeep in WW2 desert camouflage. It looks quite tempting.

Count me in if it's going to be a 1:24 car.

Can't do F1 cars, but could do a 1/24 XJ220 or an AFV as I've got quite a few in the stash.

I'd like it if the scope of the GB was a bit wider, if F1/GP cars were selected, I would prefer the scale was not limited for example.

My suggestions would be remove scale restraints and base the GB on a theatre of war or vehicle category.

The Falklands / The Cold War / Vietnam / Korea / Soviet war in Afghanistan etc.

Or for a non military GB, how about selecting a generation and modelling any motorsport vehicle from that generation? You could bend the rules a little and put roundels on road cars too. smile

Might be a bit expensive for those who just want a dabble.

More suitable for us dedicated modellers.

OK - I'll go for it. Any 1/20/24/25 racing car (F1 or other). To be completed by the end of July.

This would be my offering -
