dizzy removal

Question gents,
I'm running coil packs, hence don't need the dizzy and have been waiting for an excuse to disconnect the coolant pipe above the dizzy to get it out, and now I have with the connection to the manifold leaking,
Anyway the question, I have a 1997 ,500 and want to just double check I can just pull the dizzy out and then blank the hole without messing anything elce up.
I can't remember if this age engine needs the bottom of the dizzy for the oil pump.

Only the pre-serp engines need the dozy to run the pump, if you have a serp you can remove it and bin it.
Search on the net for a drawing of a suitable bung.

Someone used to seel a suitable bung . . Steve or Clive ? Uses the existing clamp to hold in place.
