I read in the Daily Mail last week that McLaren were courting Saif Gaddifi for investment and sponsorship.

Doesn't bother me tbh. I'm sure there isn't a single company sponsoring in F1 that doesn't have some sort of shady past (ok - this is a bit more extreme, but I don't see the need to drag McLaren over the coals for it...although, I guess if it was Ferrari...)

I have to say, it's such a shame - Libya is such a fantastic place and would be so popular as a tourist destination bringing in a load of cash for them...if only it was a more stable country. Such a waste. I really enjoyed my time in Libya and found the locals to be great.

Cheers

Bah, someone says they can fix a sponsorship deal, team follow up deal that soon comes to nothing.. hardly scandal of the year, regardless of how the daily wail try to hype it up

Go back a few years further and you will find Williams sponsored by Saudia & BIN LADEN! the company owned by the father of the b@st@rd they took out yesterday.

Quite surprising really that the Daily Mail didn't manage an "F1 Causes CANCER" story back when all the cars were sponsored by cigarette companies...
