G-shocks. They're everywhere and the G shock thread is one of the most popular on here. But I just can't stand them. I know they serve a purpose but I just can't get past those looks and they come in some truely lurid colour combinations.

Rolex Deep Sea. I saw one in the window of Blowers the other week and it was awful! The proportions were all wrong, it looked too tall and I don't like the writing on the inside. I didn't try it on though, so maybe that would change my mind - not that I can afford one anyway. The actual watch in question:

Agreed on both, G-Shocks look like something you'd give a 5 year old as their first proper watch, I can't beleve that actual adult human beings wear those things!

As for the Rolex, it's the text in between the bezel and chapter ring that gets me - it just makes it look tacky and crap.

I like the G shocks, but only in black or grey. The colour ones I find repulsive.

Did you get the title of this thread wrong. Methinks 'watches hardly anyone likes' would be nearer the mark

Really? just have a browse on TZ, PMWF or the 'incoming' thread, the watch geeks seem to love em, them and Seiko 5s

Agree on both. Plus just about everything over 40mm unless you've got wrists like tree trunks.

Good call on the Bell and Ross there, I knew I'd missed at least one from my OP.

Rolex is top of the list for me; it's not that I dislike them but I don't see why they command the price tag they do. I don't see them as being better than Omega or Breitling, and I'm still uncertain about the Mercedes hour hand. I can't reconcile that design in my head.

Seiko Tuna's - ugly as sin hehe

Anything from Christopher Ward

Anything from Timefactors. Now, admittedly, I haven't handled a Timefactors piece, but I can't for the life of me understand what makes everyone go goey over them. I mean, purely from a visual perspective, they look pretty uninspiring to me. I suppose that could change once I get my hands on one....

Panerai, Breitling, AP, Hublot, Bell & Ross are a few that I can't see me buying any of. I can't see the point of a Deep Sea unless you are a diver.

Rolex. Just don't see what the fuss is about.

Steinhart, Tao and so on.

Anything that is an homage of some sort.

yes

Been talking to DomH about one, but I'm currently looking at an addition to the fleet as well so I need to sort out where the pennies are going first!

Time factor's - They all mainly look like cheap naff to me yet TZ seem to love the thing's
G-Shock - Look suitable for a 5yr old many of them are far too vivid in colour
Bell & Ross - Again most of the designs seem horrible to me

Breitling Bentley and others of the same ilk - way, way too much going on there....

...and square faced B&Rs, though the round faced ones can be OK.

I agree the G Shocks and Breitlings are not my thing but the Rolex is just sublime, am currently in the market for a used SD or Stainless Steel Sub.

I also like the Seiko 'Tuna's amd Marine Masters but don't like the majority of the 5s and 'Monster' range.

just to add I have an unhealty appetite for Ulysse Nardin especially their Maxi Marine Series and Alain Silberstein's Krono Bauhaus.

G-Shocks are like Crocs and shouldn't be worn by adults.

And same goes for orange Monsters. I don't understand the fascination at all.

In fact I'd say all brightly coloured watches are pretty questionable.

I nearly bought one the other day, totally out of my normal frame of reference but love what he's done with the movement;

Hublot Big Bang. Hideous overpriced things.
AP Royal Oak Offshore. See above.
Gold Rolex. Very gauche and tacky.
Bell and Ross. Big and clunky footballers watches.
