LS3 Conversion - Would a charger fit?

Purely hypothetical dream world stuff but take the Sportmotive LS3 engine swap .... very impressive indeed and the LS3 is fantastic engine with 480BHP and 475 lb ft torque.

Say for instance that you wanted more power still ..... would one of the many superchargers available for this engine fit under bonnet? A blown LS3 will give you around 564BHP and 547lb ft torque and that epic charger whine as per the VXR8 Barthhurst S.



Could this be the ultimate Griff?

There you go £6,200 Inc VAT will get you this, looks like it would fit under a Griff bonnet you will of course need an LS3 as well!!

Now you have the ability to use the same supercharger package with the front accessory drive and build your own LS or LSX based supercharged engine. The intake bolt pattern and port configuration is the same for the LS3, LSX-LS3, L92, LSA and LS9 cylinder heads. The GM Performance Parts LS9 Supercharger kit includes the cast cover and intercooler, as well as the supercharger intake system and a gasket kit. It is completely assembled with injectors, front pulley and throttle body.

^ Agreed. Boost on a rover needn't be expensive and the gearbox and surrounding parts can be kept.

Just dropping LS3 into mine and yes it is very tight on the bonnet due to the droped bonnet on the Griff,so not sure if you would have room depending on a whole host of other things such as engine mounts etc, agree with earlier comment about the LS9!

28 mpg and total (TVR) reliability 99.99% of the time.
Performance to beat any 500 bhp TVR when required.
2 x 11lb bottles on a 200 shot would give over 2 minutes.
or 40 of those 3 second bursts you're so familiar with

Sounds like a interesting project Is there a build thread for your LS Griff?

I know the LS9 is a better than a blown LS3 but I love the epic charger whine you get from the charger kits for the LS3:

Yes that was fullish saying "reliable"...3 yrs into my mod and i "think" i finally got reliable back yesterday.

meant to put a smiley on my first post Derek, i was merely making a deferentiation between nos and perminant power upgrade which would be closer to the OP's original post, not to mention neal included engine build in his £3k figure..lol
