My PAS has a small leak, circa half a teaspoon every 3 days (100 miles) although the leak isn't always evident the level in the reservoir has dropped by 5 mm in the last few months.

Its quite pricey to remove the rack and have it reconditioned, so whilst I save up is it safe to use the "Stop Leak " stuff, like Wynns or Lucas?

I don't want to do damage that would make a refurb more expensive and I don't want to kill the pump.

Any advice appreciated (I am due to drive the car to Le Mans and Back next month)

I've used the wynns one several times and found it very good if the leak is from a seal, and have had no problems with it.

I've also seen the Lucas one used by someone and it looked very viscous, so viscous that I would be concerned that it could possibly damage the pump.
