Just been test fitting my inlet manifold onto the engine and noticed that now the plenum insulator is fitted it is a VERY tight fit to the bulkhead.

Anyone out there with a Taraka conversion seen what TVR Power do to modify the bulkhead area to accomodate (I'm thinking Dremel - but would appreciate an idea of just how much to take off to allow for engine movement).

I dropped the inlet manifold off at TVR power and just had the blended trumpets, etc. carried out - not the full Taraka as I was working on an ECU swap out at the time.

In the photos shown the manifold still needs to move <>5mm towards to bulkhead to line up with the heads.

ears

Can't add anything constructive I'm afraid, but curious to hear about this; I assumed it was just a drop-in upgrade.

That cannot be right, it should fit without needing to hack the bulkhead area apart.

Would it be worth having a chat with Dom?

Your engine (or top end) looks to sit a long way back... I have new mounts on mine so the engine is quite high now.. and a 10mm Plenum spacer fitter... these are the pic's..

Thanks everyone.

John - appreciate the photos, the plenum spacer is <>16mm, also the bulkhead looks slightly different on you car (could just be the angle the photo is taken at). My car is one of the early ones with a thick pipe joining the heater unit from passenger side to drivers side. I think later cars had a different design - could this also include a slightly different moulding?

Steve - The engine mounts are the SC Power (Style 2). Had a bit of trouble with sheared mounts in the past, so this was a preventative measure. There is an additonal 5mm spacer on the drivers side.

However, I guess it may be contributing to the problem now. The bracket material is about 5mm thick, so in combination with the spacer this could be the issue. Don't really want to get rid of the brackets, but also don't want to cut into the bulkhead.
