Cheapest Mk2 Ever??

I just saw this in the classifieds http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2269953.htm and it looks 4-5k underpriced to me. Obviously it's sold but was this a car that was crashed and not recorded (hence the wings) or as it had already had a Power rebuild was it just a genuine bargain???

He had been trying to sell for some time. He specified it at the factory with a mk1 front end and I think it put people off as most people want a mk2 front on a mk2

Actually I have to disagree with the above statement..

I prefer the front of the MK1 to the MK2. It is a matter of taste, I guess.
But I have to admit that it does not look normal.. :-)

I like the mk1 front as well but it belongs on a mk1.

I actually prefer the look of the MkI (hence my choice) and I can't imagine there's a later model out there with better performance. On par maybe, but not better and to be frank I bought it on that basis. Not looks.
