Had my Mk2 Escort repainted properly by a guy in Driffield and they did a cracking job on the whole, but it was pretty expensive. I know you get what you pay for but my project MX5 coming this evening will need a quick blow over once I've done some panel work and I certainly don't want to spend the same level as before!

Apart from MW at Elvington (highly recommended but probably going to be too dear), are there any cheap and cheerful painters people can recommend in the area?

Thanks.

Maybe a bit far but theres a chap in Sheffield who's doing loads of bodywork at the moment for all the Yorkshire lot on MX5Nutz, got a cracking reputation so far for price/quality, Deepcar Autobodies, guys called Dave. MX%nutz forum or google will bring up the details no doubt.

Thanks - might give him a call if nothing else comes up in the meantime. Hoping that I can cut it back but I think it's too far gone.

Paul Hunter has come up trumps for me several times. He's in Harrogate and you can get him on 07817 499108.

Cheers - what cars has he done for you? It'll be a whole car blow over though obviously a small vehicle.

He did a Fiat Barchetta in that tricky yellow for a good price. Then did a bit of filler and paint on a dark blue Fiat Coupe - good job on both for a good price. Proper car enthusiast - was doing up a Barracuda when I was there last. Also gets quite a bit of work for Premier League players, through one of their agents I think. I've moved away from that way now but if I'm back I'll still pop in and chew the fat with him. He's next to Starbeck railway station. Give him a buzz or pop in - and tell him I'll be over to badger him soon!
