If you're into detailing, why not pop round to your local dealerships & see if they're looking for any valeters or something?
Might not be your cup of tea, but it's just a thought smile

DHL did have "home based" couriers working for them a while ago, not sure if they still do. You get a handset and a bundle of parcels, you use your own vehicle and get paid per delivery or attempted delivery.

if ur in Aberdeen, then Heavenly pizzas is looking for owner drivers. great atmosphere and ur car won't smell of pizza (cause of the insulated bags).

Visiting a driving range is always a good way to pass time.
Its not work obviously but I find it relaxing.

Know you might not like this suggestion, but I went back to Uni in my time off so that I could get away from offshore but without the salary drop. RGU take a lot of offshore guys on part-time for all sorts of courses...

Joy of the driving range, no need to be any good, wayward shot can be forgotten about instantly rather than having to walk to another fairway to play back on to your own hole. Don't even need a full set of clubs to start with, 6 iron or thereabouts and wood would get you started.

Nice one. I found it tough, but well worth it. Particularly the way the industry is going now... With much of the work heading overseas, having a degree opens up some countries previously closed, regardless of experience. Shell had 30 engineers travelling to Kazahkstan refused entry at the last moment as they had no degrees - despite loads of experience.

I suggest the world is your oyster, I guess you have a summer before Uni + Offshore and probably a handful of weeks in between your rota so why not make the most of it.

For a start you live in one of the most beautiful places in the world, full of history and interest, from castles to hillwalking to mountain biking, may not be your scene so to fill the PH passion there are places that do quad biking, offroading, tank driving the list is endless.

You could restore a car, build a kit car, modify a car but if you really want to work and money is not a driver how about doing some charity work, there are plenty of driving or support jobs so really it's your choice.
