Me again, i'm sure you'll get bored soon!! Had a scan through first 5-6 pages but couldn't find what i was after so,

1) On my mom's mk1 Eunos, there is a little red rocker switch on the right hand side of the dash, next to the mirror swith & heathed window switch. What is this for??

2) On the dash, a little warning light saying 'heat' and a picture are illuminated, again, any ideas??

3) Previous owner fitted a cone filter (bloody big thing too!). Doesn't seem to have any idle problems or poor running (have had issues with cone filters on previous cars). Am i best of junking it and finding a standard airbox as the old dear isn't too fussed with increased engine noise.

I think thats it for now

Cheers

Im a mk2 owner but I'm guessing.

1. Rear fog light.
2. Cat overheat warning.
3. Personal preference.

Thanks for the quick reply. Is that CAT warning light pointing to a problem with the CAT?

Someone with more knowledge will be along shortly I hope. It could be the cat overheating (obviously!) becuase its blocked, or it could be that the car has been decatted and its causing a sensor issue, which wouldnt be a complete surprise especially if it has an iduction kit.

Cat overheat light is only fitted to JDM cars. It's generally considered something that can be completely ignored. I believe it's possible to either remove the sensor from the cat and tie it up out of the way or just remove it to get rid of the light. I'm sure someone with 1st hand knowledge will be along soon smile

This.

Though it's easier to unplug the cat sensor from the harness than to remove the CAT sensor from the CAT - as that leaves a bit of an exhaust leak :P

You can just unplug the sensor on the cat and leave it in there, like has been said, it is only on the imports and will make no difference to the car running, personally for what the sensor costs I would fit a new one, will take all of 20 min's to change, as for the cone filter ...leave it on, we are talking about a very good over engineered roadster not a box with wheels, it will be fine where it is, just make sure you get it re-oiled when needed, she will be fine.
